When someone is passionate about music, that’s all that person wants to do, just as this quote provided by Craig Guerrieri from https://cygnusstudios.blog says!
Dear Beethoven, you may be right but do you agree with me by any chance that music without lyrics will reach the mind and soul but it will not be understood by the intellect? I personally believe the pleasant harmony between the lyrics and the musical notes touch not only heart but all the entities.
I mean the intellect* who is not educated musically
I don’t believe he was necessarily referring to song lyrics in this quote, but I guess that’s open to interpretation.
I’m a lyrics and poetry freak myself, and personally find it hard to separate “mind”, “soul”, and “intellect” as they’re so intertwined with each other. This is especially true when it comes to music, which in my opinion is one of the most subjective things in the world. Poetry is obviously the opposite, that being words with no musical accompaniment, but nonetheless shares the same traits.
My favorite composer in the genre is without a doubt Mozart, who was a complete genius. Even if not a fan of classical music, if nothing else I’d recommend anyone check out “Symphony No. 29” (especially the 1st movement), which he wrote at 17 years of age.
The first time I did so on headphones, relaxed and lying down with my eyes closed, by the time it was over I had tears streaming down both cheeks. It was that beautiful, as if my entire life was flashing back through my head.

I guess that sometimes the music doesn’t need to be underatood by the intellect as it enables it to wonder free.
I just ran across an article related to all of this.
“Art is Intellectual and the Intellect is Artistic”
Ironically, there’s another quote contained within (more quotes, yay!) that applies to this discussion:
“Just because you are smart, it doesn’t mean that you can’t be cultured. And just because you are cultured it doesn’t mean that you can’t be smart. There is intelligence and there is artistic merit, and those two things should, can and do exist at the same time.”
– Rachel Haywire
I think that sort of mirrors what I was attempting to get across earlier: Mind, soul, and intellect are too “intertwined” to be thought of as separate entities when it comes to music. She seems to take it even further by suggesting this is true of all the Arts.

Dear Elena, A beautiful thought
A profound thought from a musical genius!
