Love the Proverbs 31 description of the capable, godly woman…and the ending goes like this: “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.” Beauty definitely begins within!
“pretty is as pretty does,” they always told us
So true and so commonly ignored.

This one is similar to the one I have heard all through my life;
‘Beauty is skin deep and ugly goes all the way to the bone’
It’s an old warning to not accept things on face value just because it looks good, particularly with people. At least that’s the way I always interpreted it.

An important reminder in today’s society, where a woman is often judged for her looks rather than her accomplishments!
